It looked like a fumble before the TD, but I don't think there was indisputable evidence that could come fast enough for the officials. The upholding of the original call on the field was the right thing to do.
Of course, I was kind of hoping it would be ruled a touchback, so Doe could learn...
I can see more I-Formations in the red zone, especially since it did work on the one play and our usual Tebow run up the middle was being stopped all night in the redzone. I just don't think it's a magic fix for our redzone woes (but I could be wrong).
I hear all this frustration about our playcalling and while I'm not happy with it, I don't really know what would be more effective.
More Tebow from under center? Why? How will that magically improve our running game? I suppose it will surprise some teams, but teams will quickly adjust...
Tebow really, REALLY needs to have a quicker release. When he threw that second pick 6, he had a WR WIDE OPEN down field. Tebow just took too much time to get rid of the ball.
And yes, our o-line could have protected Tebow better on that play, but still...if Tebow could get rid of the ball...
The Arkansas DB blew that coverage by looking at the ball and not his man. But then again, Thompson was "burning" his coverage often that game (but due to pressure, Tebow didn't get to check down to Thompson).
Our offensive line (besides the fumbles) almost cost us the game. The playcalling was fine, but Tebow wasn't given anytime to sit in the pocket and check down his receivers.
I'm really disappointed with our offensive line. Tebow was not given enough time in the pocket, pure and simple. Several times he was flushed out and had to scramble even though there was a wide open receiver downfield.
And yes, Arkansas's front 4 deserves credit as well...they did a great...
Three things irk me about this game so far:
Dropped Cooper pass
Brandon James' fumble would have been no big deal if he only fell on the ball instead of trying to pick it up and run with it.
Not falling on the fumble on Arkansas' kick off return that set up their half ending FG. Again, we...
