#18 Louis Oliver III was a walk-on defensive back out of Belle Glade, Florida for Galen Hall‘s Florida Gators in 1985. He eventually earned a scholarship, and a place in the Gator Hall of Fame. He was a two time All American–first team in 1987, and Consensus in 1988. He was also first team All SEC and Academic Honor Roll in those years. In his senior year of 1989, he was team captain and Fergie Ferguson Award Winner. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft, where he was reunited with his college defensive backfield teammate, Gator Great Jarvis Williams. Louis finished his college career with 11 interceptions and 173 int return yards.
#18 Robert Anthony Lilly was a safety out of Alexandria, Virginia for Charley Pell’s Gators from 1980 to 1983. Tony earned the opportunity to start (which was still somewhat rare back then) when Tim Groves was injured late in the season. Over the course of four seasons, Tony intercepted 9 passes. He led the SEC with 4 passes in 1983, and was named First-team All-SEC and Second-team All-American. Tony graduated with a degree in education.
Tony was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1984 NFL Draft and he played for the Broncos from 1984 to 1988. Super Bowl XXII against the Washington Redskins was his last game in the NFL. He is currently a high school football coach and teacher in Woodbridge, Virginia.
