Compass Bowl...GoDaddy.com Bowl...Fight Hunger Bowl..???

Where did these come from...weren't these those little bowl games that used to be played on December 10, or something???

Maybe we can get some other new bowls so that the season doesn't have to end with the BCS NC game. February would be nice...other than basketball, it's a slow time.

Agreed. Let's extend bowl season. February is boring without football.

The best part about the bowl pairings is that win or lose against Penn State, we are playing later than SOW! Take that! Jerks!

UCF, scUM, & the CrimiNoles all play in CONSOLATION bowl games on Dec 31, while the Mighty GATORS again prove that we are the #1 team in the state, and whose broadcast of the Outback Bowl will probably exceed those other 3 when their ratings are all combined together. If you were a high school player, who would you rather play for....the team that plays and no one watches...or the team that plays on the real bowl day, New Year's Day, when everyone will be watching.

Very favorable for us. In all fairness some of the pairings as well as the bcs overlooking some teams out there w/ winning records just substantiates the need for some kind of playoff.
IMO the bcs is ripping off College Football fans by forcing their system on us..............

I would only be in favor of a playoff if there were better benefits for the players. Playoffs mean many extra games for players in what is essentially a farm league for the NFL. These kids are done for the semester in early december, but only play in at most two extra games--conference champ and bowl game. This is also true for, say, soccer or basketball, but the NFL really does use college ball as a farm league and college players have more market value. A playoff means maybe 4 more games in most formats--sweet 16, elite 8, final 4, national championships. College fans are less likely to travel and there are fewer domed sites for January games. Throw in December graduations and it gets difficult to play games past Jan 10th.

The bowl setup is fine with me, unless NCAA and NFL revamp the whole system. NFL would have to play along as well, because NCAA gets enough money in this format. Only the NFL wins in a playoff format.

An observance on player compensation from my time at UF. There used to be a paved street that ran east & west, where the "new" north endzone is now. East West Drive connected old North South Dr to Fletcher Drive. Part of this was and still is used for motorcycle & bicycle parking. This was where I also parked the little 50cc motorcycle I owned, too. There was also room for parallel car parking, if you had a sticker. One day as I came out of my dorm and was unchaining my motorcycle, Larry Smith, a senior & the star RB at the time, came out of the stadium, (as all athletes at that time lived in Yon Hall inside the stadium) and and walked over to a brand new red & black 1968 convertible Oldsmobile 422, got in and drove away. I remember he was wearing his black UF letterman's jacket at the time and I was in awe!

The two thoughts I had even way back then, was wow...this was one big guy! The other thought was... who bought Larry this brand new hot muscle car???

Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (Nevada - Boston College)

I might actually be going to this game, I have a friend that goes to UNR and I was making fun of him for the bowl game his team was placed in, but he ended up inviting me to go since it is in San Francisco. Just depends on ticket prices.
