2013 is looking GREAT (recruiting)

Anyone see this Kelvin Taylor kid? Am I late to the party? After seeing a article on Alabama getting another 5 star RB commit, it goes into detail about this kid and his 9000+ yards and being the 2nd all time rusher from florida only to be behind a running back that commited to the Gators.

Kelvin Taylor, son of Gator RB Fred Taylor, commits to Florida.

Dude is insane, and top top it off. We've already commited 8 5 star recruits, 7 of them being on the ESPN 150 Watch List. Looks like we took the state back regardless of the Creminoles season

Gotta stay on top of it, bring the better part of 'em IN on NSD while scooping a few more 4- and 5-star guys as well (we already had a few bail when Aubry Hill, our "recruiting coordinator" split earlier this season)...that better include some more receivers, too, some WRs we actually hold onto this time.
I mentioned this on another thread, but did you catch Kelvin Taylor's highlights from last night's game against one of the better Fla.-prep run-defenses? More than 150 tough-but-fast yards, a perfect fit for our developing offense, with Gilly leaving he'll have a real chance at stepping in as the starter as a true freshman--but we HAVE to close-the-deal! Saban is still going after him HARD, and nowadays NOTHING is certain, even in the case of a kid who's dad was a Gator-hero, who played on our sidelines during games as a kid. He could jump to the Tide last minute for reasons no one but HE understands...I'm not saying it's gonna happen, that it's even likely, just that it's possible--and in this case, it would be a DEVASTATING "miss". He's the prize of our recruiting class, the nation's #1-rated RB coming in next year, and a difference-maker who our continued upward progress towards SEC-dominance depends upon.

yea, he is a smooth runner, i think of demps mixed with percy havin lol. glad he committed early and living the footsteps of his father, real inspiring story, and he's already talking about National Championships and mentioning getting the Gators back to the '96 and '08 years lol, gotta love that about him.

Add a good helping of his dad, Fred, and a little Cedric Fason to that mix and I think you've hit on the recipe: the kid is fast AND tough--I mean TOUGH, a streaking POWERback. He will juke, bounce outside, bust a tackle at what seems the end of a nice run-for-good-yards, then shift to another gear and suddenly pull away into the clear--all on the same play! As he adjusts to the college game, he promises to become an enormous asset, a game-changer who has all the tools to transform our offense, help it to achieve the things Muschamp envisioned when he came hereand Pease himself was brought in to make happen.

sounds awesome, looking forward to us taking our spot back at the top of the SEC. I think Muschamp and Pease are a good combination and fit exactly what we needed to get out of our funk the last 2 years

With Kelvin Taylor at tailback and Adam Lane at fullback or bruiser tailback, the Gators are looking good in this position for 2013. The coaches need to prevent Lane from flipping to Ohio State. A certain former Gator coach is interested in this kid. We probably need both of these guys, similar to the Neal Anderson/ John L. Williams days of the 1980s, except in this case Kelvin Taylor is similar in size to Adam Lane--double trouble for opposing defenses.

I'm with you, E-...I'm hoping that despite all the Urban-hype among the ESPN-guys (constant, endless, makes me nauseous listening to them), the growing buzz resulting from our actual performance and record as the season continues may help decide some of the "close ones", tip the balance our way with the fence-sitters.
(Meanwhile, I have really come to resent Meyer's shameless displays of "convenient memory"...I won't go into all the examples of it here, but suffice to say that his statements about the current tOSU QB being "better than Tebow" is just the latest example of what is more and more his stock-in-trade--an absurdly overblown and short-sighted claim designed for full PR-effect, with no regard for truth, honor OR loyalty.)

Urban is a ship jumper, dude is trash. He left for OSU because he thought the next "Tebow" was there. Then found out the Miller is nowhere near Tebows level and can only save face with remarks. I think Florida is in a good position and can only decide our fate by our performance. The SEC is the nations dominant conference by far, this years record will help or hurt us.

I actually think some of these top guys are going to be at the LSU game if I'm not mistaken. Thought I read it somewhere.

Oh yeah--this is a big one among prospective recruits...ironically, from what I understand, victory isn't necessarily the major factor in winning those prospects over to our side of the fence. In fact, in some cases seeing we have a weakness (as in "need") at a certain position or area can often be interpreted by a young recruit as a sign that there'll be an opening on-the-field SOONER, a better chance for him than solid play from a unit with depth would show (though personally, I want the kid that has confidence in his own skills, on the one hand, and wants to learn from and with the best, on the other). Anyway, the hyped-up crazy excitement of an over-filled Swamp on a Saturday afternoon in Fall is in itself one of the best recruiting tools there is--that, our facilities, attention from the coaches and players and the whole way this particular staff handles the process, approaching it with a kind of "family feel" where a prospect is assigned a couple of "future teammates" (preferably from his "neck-of-the-woods", if poss.) who take him under their wing while he's here, all help to connect and build not just a "good impression", but the start of a real relationship--one that stays with the young man and his family when they leave and go home.
