With two games left in the regular season, against Alabama Tuesday night and then at Vanderbilt Saturday, everything is simply preparation for the win or go home NCAA tournament.
With that being said, the SEC title is still up for grabs between the Gators and Alabama. The Tide also has two games remaining. If they split those games they will be co-champions. If the Gators win out they will win the SEC title.
Then there is a conference Tournament, of which the Gators will have a first-round bye.
Then it's down to business, on March 17 or 18.
-The Gators are a 3-seed at this point. If they win out they could move into the 2-seed, if they lose a couple of games they could be a 4 or 5 seed. There is still hope they could get sent to Tampa for the opening round.
With all that being said, forgive me, but I don't think the final two games are all that important.
Whether they win or lose will really come down to their ability to score and maintain their tenacious defense. They play hard defense-but they don't have tremendous depth.
As for Saturday's loss, Lexington is a tough place to play, but it leaves questions whether the Gators can guard some of the best players in the game should they face them this March. Darius Miller scored 24, Brandon Knight had 16 and Doron Lamb had 14.
It's very likely the Gators and Cats could meet up again in Atlanta next weekend.
"They made some shots and there were some plays around the basket," Donovan said after the game.
"About 10-12 minutes to go in the game our frontcourt just couldn’t quite finish around the basket that I thought were some opportunities to really stay within striking range. And then once it got to eight or 10 we were constantly playing from behind.”
Donovan said of Miller "There were a couple of times where we had a smaller guy on him and he was able to take advantage. But certainly he was a huge difference in the game and I think last time we played them (Josh) Harrellson and Miller and even (DeAndre) Liggins and (Doron) Lamb, those guys really didn’t do too much. I actually thought defensively we did a pretty good job on (Brandon) and did a pretty good job on Terrence Jones."
One bright spot was the play of Kenny Boynton, who will be relied upon to make baskets in tight sports come tournament time. He scored 21 points in 29 minutes Saturday.
"He played very, very well," Donovan said. "I think the one thing with him is he shot the ball well. That’s part of it. That kept us around because again."
-Tuesday night is senior night at the O-Dome, Vernon Macklin, Chandler Parsons and Alex Tyus will be honored. The game can be seen nationally on ESPNU.

-The No. 1 ranked Gators baseball team swept Boston College over the weekend and are now 7-0, they face No. 8 Florida State Tuesday night
-Coach Muschamp gave a shout out to Jeff Demps on Twitter over the weekend.
"Congrats to #Gators for winning men's indoor SEC Championships and Jeff Demps!"
