Christopher Paul Doering was a a walk-on wide receiver for Steve Spurrier in 1991. Chris played wide receiver on scholarship from 1992 to 1995, where he finished with 149 receptions (#6 in Gator history), 2107 receiving yards (#10 in Gator history), and 31 receiving touchdowns (#1 in SEC and Gator history). Chris is also remembered for "the Catch ('93)", where his TD reception from Danny Wuerffel sealed a 24-20 victory, and averted a potential loss to the Kentucky Wildcats.

Doering was part of three consecutive SEC championship teams (1993-1995). He was team captain, first team All SEC, and second team All American in his senior season of 1995. He is a member of the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame and the University of Florida Athletic Association Hall of Fame.

Note: Chris Doering is my highest rated Gator football player that did not make it as a first-team All American. #1-#41 and #62-#69 are all first-team All American. The gap is due to #1-#61 being Gator Greats or future Gator Greats, since I weighed that higher in terms of relevance in my top 100 greatest Gator list.
