Taylor Houser Jacobs was born in Tallahassee, Florida and played wide receiver under Steve Spurrier and Ron Zook from 1998 to 2002. As a freshman, Taylor immediately had big shoes to fill thanks to the departure of Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney, playing in 10 of 12 games including the Citrus Bowl. As a sophomore year, he was used sparingly with only five starts, 17 receptions, 198 yards, and 2 touchdowns. In the following year, he played well in the Orange Bowl and tallied 38 receptions, 712 yards, and 7 touchdowns. As a team captain, he had his best year with 1,088 yards on 71 receptions. He was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and 1st-team All-SEC his senior year. He finished 10th on the all-time list with 133 receptions.
