#88 Wilber Buddiya Marshall played linebacker for Charley Pell from 1980 to 1983. He was a Consensus All-American in 1982 and 1983 and was All-SEC in 1981, 1982, and 1983, as well as the ABC Sports National Defensive Player of the Year in 1983. Marshall ranks 9th all-time in tackles (343) and 5th in sacks (23). He was a 1st round NFL draft pick for the Chicago Bears in 1984, and he played for the Bears, the Washington Redskins, Houston Oilers, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Jets until he retired from football in 1995.
In the NFL, Wilber was a 3X Pro Bowl and All-Pro player, 2X Super Bowl champion (XX, XXVI), NFC Defensive Player of the Year (1992), and 2X NFLPA Linebacker of the Yera (1992, 1993).
The University of Florida named him the Defensive Player of the Century during the selection of the school’s Team of the Century. In 2007, Marshall was the 5th member named to the University of Florida Football Ring of Honor. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame (2008), the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame, and the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame.
