Are you confident in Brantley

After Oklahoma's Sam Bradford went down with an injury and seeing their backup QB Landry Jones pretty much stink up the place ... I wanted to raise this question. How confident are you in John Brantley if Tim Tebow got injured? Without Bradford, Oklahoma could lose a handful of games... do you think the Gators would be in the same situation if Tebow went down?

I am very confident in Brantley. Of course our offense would suffer without Tebow, but Brantley is more that capable of running our offense. The key is the players around Brantley if he had to play. The offensive line is strong and protect him. The running backs are good enough to keep our offense going the way it should. Then the fact that Brantley is highly talented and well coached helps him tremendously. My last point is that our defense is stacked and should keep the score low and therefore Brantley should not have to come from behind and win games.

I think we can win with him. He wasn't great Sat, but wasn't awful either. I think if Tebow got hurt and Brantley was getting all the snaps in practice with the first unit he will be just fine. You got to remember there will NEVER be another Tim Tebow. He will have giant shoes to fill. Shoes nobody could fill. He will be a very good QB when the times comes hopefully not till next year.

More confident in him than I am with some of the receivers they have. Two dropped balls that should have been TDs (well OK the second drop was James whose a RB but still catch the ball).

There was no excuse for that juggling act by Deonte Thompson; that pass clearly was catchable.

Brantley will get there slowly but surely; once he has all facets of his game fine-tuned he'll be a BIG contributor. We're only seeing a sneak preview right now; one of his strongest assets is the velocity on his passes, as far as I've seen. Keep in mind that he's only had limited live-gametime exposure in his current slot as Tebow's backup, so really the jury's still out on him.
