Former Florida freshman guard Bradley Beal began his NBA pre-draft workouts this week.
Beal took part in the workout with the Washington Wizards on Thursday and has another one scheduled with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. The Wizards pick third overall in the NBA draft, while the Cavs pick fouth.
Beal came away happy with his workout for the Wizards in D.C.
“I think I did pretty good actually,” Beal told the Washington Post. “I wasn’t too nervous. I thought I would be a lot more nervous than I was, but overall I think a pretty good job, showcased a lot of things I was capable of doing.”
As expected, the 6-foot-4 Beal went through a variety of shooting drills, he made just five of his first nine shots but bounced back to make all four of his shot attempts in the second round.
“We did a lot of drills where we had to dribble the ball and pull up and shoot jumpers, so I think I did a pretty good job of that,” Beal told The Post. “That’s what I wanted to showcase the most.”
Beal is projected to go anywhere between 2 and 7 in the NBA Draft, which is June 28. If Beal goes second, he will match Neal Walk (2nd overall, Phoenix Suns, 1969) as the highest-drafted Gator in school history.
In other pre-draft news, former Gator senior point guard Erving Walker worked out for the Boston Celtics this week.
