GOOD!
I my opinion he deserves it, is he one of the best QBs in the NFL, no, but he has been beat down & torn apart unfairly for years. He plays hurt & to some degree is only as good as the cast around him & that has not been very good since he has been there
Agreed; Chicago needs to revamp their O-line with some fresh faces in the lineup; most of them are over-the-hill and past their peak. They did draft Josh Beekman out of Boston College last year, and I'd like to see the Bears work him into their lineup. They need to focus on rebuilding their O-line positions in the draft this spring - that, and also on a WR or two with some speed who's not apt to drop passes and is on the same page as his QB.
Without a decent O-line and playmakers on the ground and pass attack, Rex won't be productive. Sure he has areas for improvement such as not forcing the play, avoiding costly mistakes and working better under pressure, but when he's on his game he's hot. He's a "rhythm" style QB, and if he settles into a playmaking mode right off the bat he can drive the Bears' offense.
The Chicago sportswriters are known to be very scathing and don't show mercy towards anybody, and Rex has had his share of being raked over the coals by them. The one chance he has to silence the pundits once and for all is to be nothing less than a star performer in the 2008-09 season.
