OKLAHOMA CITY — I am freezing and I’m not complaining.
It is about an hour before the Florida-Auburn game here Sunday and we are sitting outside in our press seats. It is 66 degrees. It has been this way all week and I certainly didn’t pack for this weather.
I think Oklahoma City in late May and early June and I think about beads of sweat running down the side of my face and major pit stains.
But this week had been amazing. There were lightning delays on the first night and a storm that woke me up at about 4 a.m, Thursday. The first two days I was here there were the usual tornado warnings.
But it has been really nice to be out of the Gainesville heat and this wasn’t a place I expected to find relief. It’s my sixth trip to Bricktown and the downtown area never disappoints. They have improved the stadium and are running the event much better than the last time I was here two years ago.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the coverage. Let’s see what happens next.
