Carlos Dunlap also declares for 2010 NFL Draft

Good player but costs the Gators the title due to DUI a few days before the SEC Title game. Good Riddance.

Disagree. Dunlap's DUI did not help, but the rest of our team (except for a few others) can share the blame for stinking up the place on that day. I blame all the players who sandbagged the game for the sake of the NFL draft. Dunlap is not good enough to deserve all the blame. Good riddance.

If we gave out "rep" points for a good post, I'd give you some here.

Going forward, I hope the players who come into the Gator football program are focused on winning championships and aren't just looking at this as a stepping-stone to the NFL.

I hope Dunlap realizes that his DUI will raise some red flags with NFL teams; player character carries more weight now than it did in the past. Granted if he's invited to the Combine in March, this issue will come up with those teams interested in him.

NFL football and NCAA football are almost two different sports. In NCAA, since the kids are not being paid to play and they are supposed to be students first, athletes second, I want them to be good kids. With Tim Tebow setting the precedence or at least renewing the focus, I almost expect future NCAA athletes to be good Christians/Jews/Muslims/Buddhists/Atheists-who-support-Boy-Scouts. In the NFL, it is almost encouraged for athletes to be boozing, lying, cheating, cussing, baby-punching monsters. Dunass will fit in just fine once he finally gets laid and learns to cheat on his wife and five kids. (Again, I am not bitter about Dunlap--I just hate bringing negative publicity to my school knowing that since I was just a UF engineering nerd I could not get away with what these student-athletes get away with. I actually had to follow an honor code.)
