Former Florida guard Eli Carter announced via Twitter that he’s transferring to Boston College next season.
The 6-foot-2 Carter visited Georgetown and UNLV, and also considered returning to UF, but decided Boston College would be the best fit for his final season. Carter is due to complete his undergraduate degree at UF over the summer and will be eligible to play immediately at Boston College next season as a graduate transfer.

A transfer from Rutgers, Carter was third in scoring for UF at 8.8 points per game in what wound up being his lone healthy season on campus. He took a medical redshirt during UF’s Final Four season in 2013-14 after appearing in just eight games because he never fully recovered from a broken leg he suffered his sophomore season at Rutgers.
Even with Carter gone and Michael Frazier II leaving early for the NBA draft, Florida still has sufficient depth at shooting guard. Redshirt junior guard DeVon Walker said he’s back to close to 100 percent from a torn ACL that sidelined him last season, while sophomore guard Brandone Francis will be eligible after sitting out last season due to academic reasons. In addition, incoming freshman KeVaughn Allen (North Little Rock, Ark.) is considered one of the top shooting guard prospects in the Class of 2015 and could see immediate playing time.
