^^ True he did have a good game against Miss. St. But don't let that ypc avg fool you. That number is greatly inflated by his 1 carry for 76 yard performance against the juggernaut defense of Charleston Southern.
If you take away that game, and the Troy game (12 carries for 85 yards) and use just SEC stats, Rainey has 44 carries for 219 yards. That's still a decent 4.9 ypc. But that puts him well behind Florida's team average ypc in SEC play.(Not counting the 12718748 Tebow sacks.)
Like I said, he had a great game against Miss St. But that was just ONE game. Here's his totals in the rest of Florida's SEC games:
4 rushes 12 yards
6 rushes 6 yards
4 rushes 11 yards
9 rushes 36 yards
9 rushes 64 yards
I know I'm being hard on Rainey, but I was expecting so much out of him heading into this season. I really thought he could have been the starter over Demps. I was wrong. Demps is clearly the best back on our roster. Moody is a better running back than Rainey. Even Mike Gillislee has impressed me more than Rainey. His blocked punts are exceptional, but he should be doing a lot more for us.
