Opening statement:

“Their quarterback (B.J. Daniels) is a stud; he’s a tough nut. We have a lot of respect for the outlet we just played. When I said they’re SEC caliber, they might not have the depth, but they have the players. That’s a good team.

Our offensive line put it on their shoulders in the second half. That’s the hardest our running backs have run here in quite awhile.
I thought (Emmanuel) Moody did a great job of running at pad-level.
(Mike) Gillislee ran hard.
(Jeff) Demps really ran hard but also showed that blazing speed.
Our receivers aren’t where we need to be, but they’re better. We’re starting to get that rotation in there. We continue to grow that group the best we can.
The defensive line had a nice little rotation going as well. We have to rotate them, especially in the heat.
Special teams was finally the way it’s supposed to look around here.
Janoris (Jenkins) did a really good job.
Demps did a really nice job as well.
I’d like to thank our fans. That was hot; it was a tough one today. It was tough. For them to be loud and cause a few false starts and timeouts, that was huge. Hats off to our fans, because I appreciate that.
We were also 5-0 in the turnover battle, and that was a big part of this.”

On the first offensive drive:
“I was disappointed because we had a good kickoff return to start the game and didn’t move the ball. I was real disappointed. We have to get that corrected. You won’t win SEC games like that.
They worked on us all year. They had really good pressure on us. Their defensive coordinator did a great job. They were blitzing their tail off.”

On B.J. Daniels:
“They have a veteran quarterback who made some plays. He was scrambling and running the triple option and made some plays that kind of quarterback can do. He played fantastic. Their quarterback is a superstar. He’s a really good player.”

On the freshman class:
“That freshman class is really starting to come on. Even the guys you don’t see much playing time like Neiron Ball, Cody Riggs and Jaylen Watkins. Robert Clark did a heck of a job. They have to be. There are some other young ones coming on. (Quinton) Dunbar and (Chris) Dunkley haven’t come on. We need them all. I love when Shariff (Floyd) gets up and gets loud. It gets me fired up.”
