Dana Carvey Headlines 2009 Gator Growl

Dana Carvey is the headlining performer at the Oct 15 Gator Growl. You probably know him as Garth from Wayne's World and other popular skits from SNL. The dude is pretty funny so I'll be excited to see him.

I loved him as the Church Lady (my fave line for that character was "Well, isn't that special") on SNL - those years he was supported by an awesome cast!

He is pretty funny, I saw a video of him talking to a paparazzi the other day...

Paparazzi: "I gotta say, The Master of Disguise is one of my favorite movies!"

Dana Carvey: "Oh, so you do have a drug problem."

We had him perform at a work event and the guy is really good. I thought even better than all of his previous work....great standup act.

I'm surprised they didn't get someone more current. He hasn't done anything (well stand-up and the appearence in the MTV Movie awards that Mike Myers hosted) since 2002 with Master of Disguise which was a hit of sorts (spent 16 million and made 40 million).

My thoughts exactly. That is the reason I haven't been to the last 4 Gator Growls. Mediocre talent at best imo. Florida Blue Key really needs some fresh blood.
