Does Lattimore worry you?

Should we be worried about Marcus Lattimore?

Marcus Lattimore has already played on national television. He’s already racked up big numbers in front of huge crowds against SEC powerhouses.
But when he takes the field Saturday against No. 24 Florida (6-3, 4-3 SEC) at The Swamp, No. 22 South Carolina’s sensational running back will be living out a dream.
“This is what I came here for, to play on a big stage in front of crazy fans,” Lattimore said about USC’s 7:15 p.m. showdown with the Gators. “It’s going to be real fun. It’s going to be a great experience.”
And he’ll also be playing for an SEC East title.
Lattimore’s been through a lot during his freshman season, from the highs of being the second-leading rusher in the SEC to the lows of suffering through a pair of injuries.

He's injured more than they are letting on. I'm not worried. When you're the work horse of an SEC team, you're pretty beat up by the end of the season. Have Shariff fall on him a couple times and he'll be limping back to the sideline.

A little bit depending which defense shows up.

Exactly--our concern should be with our "D": they take care of biz, the rest takes care of itself.
I'm not breaking any new ground when I say that we need to shut down Lattimore and "make Garcia beat us", which I find fairly unlikely.
(Now, there's the ongoing evolution of OUR offense--a whole OTHER subject...I am both excited and concerned: it moves forward, and we can win this going away, but backslide and everything else is in jeopardy.)

When was the last time a RB beat us? I can only think Knowshon Moreno in the '07 Georgia game. Bama has done it with their offensive line. I'm not sure we will let one RB's talents beat us without a great effort from the O-line.

I meant the "Garcia beats us" as the "unlikely" part...they DO have those big and fast WRs that outweigh and outREACH our (small and fast) cover-guys, but Garcia scares no one, and if we can get some pressure on him he'll be completing it to Gators. So stopping their running game is the key.

Well Miss St of this year though part of that was Offense sucking and that Demps fumble.

I spoke too soon. He ran right through us.

That knee had enough pharmaceuticals in it to treat an Army. I think he may have been encouraged to play early on it before it had a chance to fully heal.
