"Former University of Florida cornerback Jacques Rickerson made his first court appearance Friday morning after being accused of dating-violence crimes against the woman he had been dating since 2007.
Rickerson, 21, of St. Augustine, was arrested Thursday afternoon on felony charges of domestic battery by strangulation and cyberstalking.
According to an arrest report filed by Gainesville Police Officer Laurence T. Gilbert, both incidents happened in January at the victim's apartment in the 4700 block of Southwest 17th Place."
(My two cents: IMHO Urban Meyer did the right thing in having given Rickerson his walking papers in 2008 after what he did to this same girl. If there's one core value Urban emphasizes, it's the one about no violent acts towards women. Why this girl stays with him, I can't figure out.)
