GAINESVILLE - "Florida coach Urban Meyer would love to have one of the nation's top offenses.
He'd love to see quarterback Tim Tebow winging the ball all over the field 30 times a game, receivers running free down the sideline, and running backs catching short passes and turning them into big gains.
But he loves winning more, which is why the undefeated Gators (5-0, 3-0 SEC) won't be doing much of that this season unless absolutely necessary. Instead, Meyer is content to lean on one of the nation's top defenses and go right-wing conservative on offense.
"All the great teams that I've ever been associated with, we've had a fantastic defense," Meyer said. "We've had some really high-scoring teams like two years ago. We scored a lot of points, but you don't win that way. You get statistics, but you don't win.
"... I do feel like we're going to have to [open up the offense]. I want to, but I'd rather just win games and do it the right way."
