:p Funny (and TRUE) stuff...Still, the WHOLE story, Allison and everything else as well, begs to be told in its OWN "Ballad of Bad Bobby".
Like everyone here in Austin, I have my 70-year-old Gibson J-45 (you don't get past City Limits with your pick-up full of your possessions without a quality axe in the cab with you) and a hankering to play at least 1/2-an-hour a day, along with the prescription medicines you find yourself taking when you're "old as dirt" like me (I'm probably better off just ignoring that line, E-, but it is in my nature to "take the bull by the balls"--been waiting to use that line by Dean Wermer in "Animal House" for YEARS!)--maybe I'LL take a crack at that tune, you know, break some glass...

When I said you were old as dirt, it was a term of reverence and respect. Out of the active posters here, you have the most perspective on the Pre-Spurrier and Pre-Meyer eras. I can remember the Galen Hall Era very well, but Charley Pell Era is hit or miss. Before that is all secondhand from my uncle.

Oh don't worry about it E-, I got a laugh out of it, and I caught most of the intended nuances, I think.
...Hey, I'm LUCKY--I have the benefit of experience to temper my once self-destructive, know-it-all arrogance (didn't we all have that once, when we were "young"--I mean, "stupid-young"?--Even so, I may well have been MORE arrogant, more apt to be described, "Seldom does one meet a young man who thinks so much of his own ideas with so little grounds for doing so...")--but I still LOOK at least 15 years younger than my actual age (going by what people, mostly women I meet, guess/assume my age is). This was a pain when I WAS young, getting carded right up until I was almost 40 (I believe 40 was the last year that it happened, as I recall--you've hit "middle age" when you're HAPPY and flattered to be carded, I remember thinking), but is an undoubted piece of good fortune and good genes by now (my Dad too had this combination of vanity and luck: his 2nd wife was a lot closer to my age than his, not that I was particularly thrilled or happy with this at 17). I guess I can thank him for my last 3 or 4 young and sexy girlfriends, heredity-wise, though--I could say more on this subject, but I'm probably WAY over the "TMI-line" here already!
Certainly have taken "the scenic route" off-topic, though...
