Well, in addition to this one against Michigan in the Peach Bowl is a BIG ONE in its own right for so many reasons, for us at least (if NOT so much more than an "appetizer" for much of the rest of the college football Nation outside Tuscaloosa and/or the various other college towns the playoff participants reside--though there IS a growing TIDAL WAVE of anti-Tide/SEC sentiment seemingly swelling higher out there), it is also a revisiting of a repeated match-up that has been "inauspicious" (to say the least) on two previous occasions for us.
I suppose that's the source of "gnawing trepidation" once again in my gut--but except for the Cocktail Party result (and its continuation into what amounted to "Part B of the same loss", lets face it, the following week against Mizzou), and from what seems now in retrospect the seeming "got it over with", "seemingly inevitable" UK loss/streak-breaker, we bounced back and actually WON the rest of the games I carried that pessimistic, last-few-years'-experiences-produced "dark shadows" into...
Here's hoping that'll in turn out be the case for this one--which we'll discuss in detail I'm sure tomight and tomorrow, pregame (feel free to put up a clearly-titled "Gator Gameday, Dec 29, 2018, 'Peach Bowl' " thread, E-)...
I've had some "loose ends"-type work to pick up these last few days of the year this week: Today is no exception (in fact am in the middle of doing the last of it this very morning--and realized "time's running out!", that ALL the "big games" are almost upon us now, INCLUDING our own--so I just wanted to make sure I explained my seeming absence, and assure y'all I'll have cleared all distractions and responsibilities and turned to "what's TRULY important!" by later this afternoon.
In other words, COUNT ME IN, of course! Whatever form it turns out (thru circumstance) to take, I'll be there, as always. Hope y'all have had a relatively relaxing few days among friends and family, Happy upcoming NEW YEAR!, and let's HOPE it starts right, happily heralded with a Big WIN...
GO GATORS!!!
