Good news, Gator Nation! I can safely guarantee that the mighty Gators will not lose this week! So, sit back, watch the Oregon Ducks destroy next week's opponent, see who will emerge as the alpha dog of the SEC West between aTm and Bama, and take heart knowing your Gators are resting for next week's showdown against the Vols. Go Gators! What are everyone's thoughts going forward?

I hoping for a win against UT especially since their in the swamp and the team should be angry plus I don't think UT will be that good (even the Canes could beat them as well). Good thing about the bye is gets us and the team to breathe.

Call me crazy, but for 55 minutes the Gators looked good statistically. They looked horrible in the other five minutes, but in a bye week they can address most of the ugliness. Those five minutes in the Red Zone could be the topic of practice for two weeks leading up to the UT game. Driskel can work on throwing the ball away or chucking it deep if read #1 & #2 are not available. Matt Jones can work on conditioning. Clay Burton can spend two straight weeks working on proper blocking. Maye can study film and work with DB coaches. Purifoy can stop smoking pot and spend more time watching film. Coach Pease can watch film of Boise State in the Red Zone. There are lots of things the Gators can work on during the bye week.

I saw one photo on one of JD's interceptions against Miami - still looking for it to post. In the red Zone there was only 1 Gator receiver and 6 Miami defenders. JS stilll tried to force the ball in for an INTERCEPTION, DUH surprise.

I saw that. Six Miami defenders on the corner post, but two open Gators and no Miami defenders on the go routes up top...by the end zone.

Just some quick points on this year's opponents that played today:
  • UT looks god-awful. The Gators need to pummel these guys just to shut up a few critics.
  • UK looked good for a bit, but then fell apart. Their defense is better than it was in the past, but their receivers have hands of stone.
  • Arkansas looks like they have a ways to go with that passing offense. Maybe it will get better when their starting QB recovers from injury. They did show that they can beat a team without attempting many passes, but this was Southern Miss.
  • LSU appears to be the most stable, balanced team on our schedule.
  • Vanderbilt, as always, was spunky until the end. They have taken a step back from the past two years.
  • USC's rushing attack looks pretty strong, but they did lose a couple fumbles. Their offense looked today like what I thought our offense would look like against Miami.
  • FSU looked amazing against powerhouse Nevada. Don't let Jameis Winston fool you, despite the meager test he got today--he is good. I think he is better than EJ Manuel. If the Gators keep their heads together, they can beat this FSU team. If they do not, I think I will start up my own FireWillMuschamp.com site.
  • Mizzou and UGly did not play today, but I do know that UGA looked ugly just sitting in their trailer parks chewing tobacco.

One last post on this thread: statistics.

Overall Statistics

Total Offense Rank 64.
Total Offense Plays 147.
Total Yards 828.
Total YPG 414.0.
Total Defense Rank 3.
Total Defense Plays 107.
Total Defense Yards 417.0.
Total YPG 208.5.
Penalties Rank 119.
Number of Penalties 20/ 140 yards.
Coaches Poll #18 (up from #20)

The offense is statistically better than last year. Based on the current trend, the 2013 Gators are similar to the 2005 Gators. It is still early to tell much from this, but it is something to keep an eye on. The main things that concern me are the penalties.

Hopefully with a bad defense, Jeff Driskel and the guys get an opportunity to show their improvements and build. We beat Tennessee if this is correct, if not we barely beat them.......
