Gators deny team in 'disarray'

If they don't get it together, and quickly, Cincinnati will win.

I'm not as mad about the assistant coaches leaving, but what happened with the players was inexcusable.

Again, why the negativity? Seems you always overlook anything positive this team's doing, or anything they're doing to move on from a loss. :(

Why the negativity?

Because this team laid an egg in its biggest game, and it's now coming out that some of the players weren't committed to winning. If that's true, why didn't the coaches do anything about it?

They need to have a strong showing in the Sugar Bowl to gain momentum going into next season. A loss would be devastating for recruiting, which despite the fact you seem to take it for granted, is the lifeblood of any successful college football program.

I agree with your idea that lots of people just like picking on Florida since they were #1 all season and they were the team many loved to hate and all that. Also, I respect that you're not that fickle in that the first sign things don't go as planned, you're not calling for heads to roll or something.

But do you really think our football team is perfect? No offense, but you post like every single play call, substitution, or administrative decision is never to be questioned or could not have turned out better if things were done differently.

I don't think she's trying to say our team is perfect. she is just tired of the all the whining/complaining done by people because things weren't done perfectly. Everyone expected a perfect season with scores 100-0. not to mention, what is wrong with being 12-1?

I have to completely agree with OTG. people are bitter with us being 12-1.. am I disappointed that we're not going to pasadena? of course. but am I disappointed with being 12-1 and in the Sugar Bowl? NO! we lost one game, in the SEC.. to another great SEC team. No shame in that. Why is everyone so bitter? so negative?

I will say that I have been guilty of negativity on occasion. I try to relieve my sense of disappointment by making my posts sarcastic or even humorous on occasion. Deep in inside, I am happy that we are 12-1 and not 9-4. I am disappointed and even jealous that we will not be able to claim what Alabama, Tennessee, and SOW claim--going undefeated, going to the big dance, and fulfilling the Dream Season. With this much talent and this many returning starters from the '08 season, how could we let destiny escape us? Not only did we let destiny escape us, we let another team embarrass us. Not that my opinion matters, but I will be highly disappointed if we do not take out our frustrations on Cincinnati. People may say that this team's legacy will not be tarnished with a loss on 1 Jan, but I beg to differ. I think a loss will cast the '09 Gators as a downright sham that was not worthy of being ranked #1 for 13 weeks. As a loyal fan, and donating alumnus, that is a tough pill to swallow.

No, I'm just sick and tired of everybody expecting this team to be picture-perfect. I for one am not one of those demanding perfection from these kids, and I'm irritated at those who do. All I seem to be seeing this season are nit-picky fans who would literally go off the deep end if Tim Tebow had one hair on his head out of place. Sadly, there are some fans in Gator Nation who will never be satisfied with anything this team can do.

So many of these "cyberspace coaches" act as though they know everything and act as if they can do a better job of operating this football program better than the current staff are doing right now. If they think they can do a better job, let them prove it.

We don't live in a perfect world, and on any given day, anything can happen. Yes, the rants are still going on about the Bama loss, but I have faith in these kids in that they will bounce back from that loss and do everything they can to avenge it - if anything, Tim Tebow and the rest of our senior class want to end this year on a positive note.

"Taking recruiting for granted"? I get offended when people put words in my mouth. I am NOT taking recruiting for granted AT ALL. Of course it's the lifeblood of any successful college program - with that sentence, you're preaching to the choir. I do care very much about recruiting and follow the process closely - but on the other hand, I'm not crying over spilled milk as others were over losing those two to F$U. We seem to be gaining ground right now and making the biggest push we can as National Signing Day approaches, and it so happens that we're in a position to bring in a top-notch class for 2010. I'm very hopeful for the future of this team, and I still see a lot of upside.
