Florida’s 2012-13 season saw a modest gain in home attendance
The Gators finished their SEC winning season averaging 10,667 fans in paid attendance, up slightly from the 10,434 Florida averaged last season.
Of UF’s 15 home dates, six were sellouts (up from five last season). The sellout games came against Missouri, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Arkansas and Alabama.
Student attendance also continued its upward trend. Florida averaged 2,326 students per game this season, up from 2,138 students last season. In 2010-11, the last season the Gators won the SEC, Florida averaged just 1,774 students.
Despite winning the SEC, Florida finished sixth in the conference in home attendance, behind Kentucky (23,099), Tennessee (17,395), Arkansas (13,750), Alabama (12,039) and Missouri (11,996).

– Despite the loss at Kentucky, Florida remains No. 6 in the latest NCAA’s official RPI. The Gators are 1-2 against the RPI Top 25, 5-4 against the RPI Top 50 and 12-6 against the RPI Top 100. UF’s worst loss, from an RPI standpoint, was at Arkansas (80 RPI). Its best win was over Marquette (11 RPI).
– Florida junior forward Will Yeguete said he’s confident that his surgically-repaired knee will be able to hold up to three games in three days if the Gators reach the SEC Tournament finals. “I’m doing rehab every single day, even though we have days off, taking care of my knee every day, after practice and before practice,” Yeguete said. “So far, it’s good.” From a conditioning standpoint, Yeguete said he’s close to being back. Yeguete sat out six games after undergoing surgery to repair bone chips in his knee on Feb. 8. “I don’t think you have any choice,” Yeguete said. “I think every player is going through that. Every play is going to be tired and every player is going to be sore. I think everybody has to deal with that to win.”
