"The SEC was formed in 1933. Since that time, only four teams have won multiple outright national championships. Those four teams, according to the official NCAA Web site, are Alabama, Florida, LSU and Tennessee.
The Gators now lead the way with three outright national titles, and all three have come since Steve Spurrier led his alma mater to its first national title in 1996.
Moreover, Florida's Urban Meyer is the only coach in SEC history with two outright national titles to his credit. He also led the Gators to the 2006 BCS crown."
