Gators need to pick permanent spots for Jon Bostic, Jelani Jenkins

"Florida has a dilemma with Jon Bostic and Jelani Jenkins. Can’t just ignore this and hope it goes away.

The Gators say they will start A.J. Jones at strong-side linebacker and Brandon Hicks at weak-side, but the middle spot is TBD. At the end of last season, this looked like Bostic’s job, but Jenkins has come on strong.

It’s going to force Florida to make a decision. Bostic is a sophomore and Jenkins is a red-shirt freshman. One of these guys has to move outside. Long-term, this can’t work. Probably won’t work short-term, either. The Gators can’t afford to reduce playing time for either one of them by keeping him on the bench."

Put Bostic in the middle and put LB Jenkins in rotation with Hicks and Jones. I prefer the faster LB in the sides than in the middle.

Yeah, Bostic has more size, so he should be in the middle. Jenkins has speed so it makes sense for him to play outside as well as inside.
