With July being an open evaluation period for recruiting, Florida has offered a scholarship to one of the top point guard prospects in 2017.
Matt Coleman, a four-star point guard from Norfolk, Va., has been extended a scholarship offer to UF according to 247.com’s Jerry Meyer.
The speedy, 6-foot Coleman is ranked the 28th best overall prospect in the country and fifth best point guard prospect in the nation according to 247.com’s national rankings. He’s also received scholarship offers from Seton Hall, Indiana, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
Florida currently has no commitments in the Class of 2017 and one in the Class of 2016, three-star power forward John Mooney. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Mooney is expected to attend Florida’s Elite Camp in Gainesville, which starts on August 1.
