Head Coach Billy Donovan Earns 300th Career Victory with 68-65 Win Over Auburn

Gator sophomore Alex Tyus (St. Louis, Mo.) led Florida to a 68-65 victory over Auburn Wednesday with his third double-double of the season. Tyus scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Florida moved to 15-2 overall (2-0 SEC) this season..............

.....freshman Erving Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y.) hit two treys in a row that would give the Orange and Blue momentum the last nine minutes.
Freshman Kenny Kadji (Douala, Cameroon) was the third and final Gator in double-digits, scoring 11 points and grabbing a career-high eight rebounds.

It was a very good game to watch. A couple of notes from my perspective:

- There were a grand total of 14 people in the crowd. However, they were able to rattle the Gators in some pivotal moments. I hope that's not a sign of things to come when the boys play in actual packed arenas on the road.

- Nick Calathes to Kenny Kadji could become the best high-low duo in college basketball this year.

- I love Erving Walker (no homo). But he needs to stop playing a one-on-one game in the closing minutes. He almost got a tech when he slapped Auburn's Frankie Sullivan in the chops last night.

-I can't help but think, if Nick Calathes were black, how much hype from the media and the NBA would he be receiving right now? The guy gets to the hoop at will and he has some of the best court vision I've seen at the college level in a long time. However, he barely gets any pub.

Well he was named SEC Player of the Week last week..
I have to agree about Nicks on court vision and basketball instincts. I have not witnessed that since Jason Williams "passed" in, and through the O'Connell center

Yeah "J-Dub" was a terrific passer. Calathes actually reminds me a lot of Eddie Shannon. When Shannon wanted to take over a game, he did. Calathes might have to improve his free throw shooting though if he wants to be remembered with the likes of Eddie.....

Yeah, Eddie was great for us, and I'm sorry that I forgot him 'til you mentioned him. I do remember though that the most amazing thing about what he was able to accomplish (and see) on the floor, he did with one eye!

Yep. Good 'ol one-eyed Eddie. I remember how he got that nickname. It was a wild night....

Oh wait, there's children on this board.
