The much anticipated transfer of forward Jon Horford to Florida is a done deal.
The Sun has confirmed that the 6-foot-1o Horford has agreed to transfer to the Gators.
Because he’s transferring into UF as a graduate student, Horford will be able to play immediately for the Gators as a fifth-year senior. Horford averaged 4.3 points and 4.6 rebounds for Michigan next season.
With Horford coming to UF, Florida added another frontcourt piece to match Kentucky’s stocked frontline. The Gators return 6-foot-10 center Damontre Harris, 6-10 forward Chris Walker, 6-8 forward Dorian Finney-Smith. In addition, Florida brings in 6-8 transfer forward Alex Murphy and freshman 6-8 forward Devin Robinson.
When Horford signs his letter of intent, Florida will have filled all 13 of scholarship spots next season. The list includes Harris, Chris Walker, Finney-Smith, Murphy, Horford, DeVon Walker, Eli Carter, Dillon Graham, Kasey Hill, Michael Frazier II, Devin Robinson, Brandone Francis and Chris Chiozza.
Of the 13 scholarship players on the roster, five are transfers — Harris (South Carolina), Finney-Smith (Virginia Tech), Carter (Rutgers), Murphy (Duke) and Horford (Michigan).
