Would you be upset the Calathes left for Greece to try out for the Olympics instead of bonding with his teammates and practicing here.

Not one bit. The man has a chance to represent Greece in the Olympics. Not too many people are afforded that opportunity.

I wouldn't be upset. Like leakbrewergator said, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And he's also doing it to honor his late grandfather, and I don't think that's a bad idea.

Calathes has dual citizenship, so that aspect isn't an issue. I agree with his doing it to honor his family; also, he'll be experiencing a higher calibre of basketball play in the Olympics which should be a bonus to him coning back for the 2008-09 season.

As long as he doesn't get hurt. Imagine if he ends up blowing an ACL is is out for the entire Gator 08-09 season. Then I think the players might be pissed that he went.

Not at all. If they had the skills to play for team USA or any other team, you would do it, too.
