John Brantley's playing time

How do you think John Brantley has looked in his playing time so far? He has over 3 quarters of playing time so far. His stat line looks pretty good: 18-24 for 202 yards. 3 touchdowns - 0 interceptions. But for some reason when I watch him play I don't feel as comfortable as I should.

One of my concerns from the Troy game is that he's fixating on just one back as Tebow had a tendency to do with Percy Harvin during the 2007 season; he needs to remember to spread the ball around and not get too predictable to opposing defenses.

Why I say this? Those consecutive handoffs to Chris Rainey that he made in the 3rd quarter.

It's hard to predict how he would play in a "real game", considering he has really only played mop-up or when there was little risk of blowing a multi-TD lead. I have heard he is the #3 QB in the SEC, but I still worry about him being the #1 next year. His delivery looks cleaner than Tebows, but his completions are all high-percentage. I want to see how he performs under pressure, against an aggressive defense, with some test of his ability to move from primary receiver to secondary.

Well it looks like he'll throw more passes this season than last. He threw 28 passes last season (he's already threw 24 passes). I think he'll play some in the next three games depending on what the Gators do against UT, UK, and Arkansas. I trust him than the receivers especially ones not named Cooper and Nelson.
