Florida Gators kicker Jonathan Phillips was named to Lou Groza Award watch list. The Lou Groza Award recognizes the most outstanding kicker in college football.

I don't know much about opposing team kickers, but Phillips has every opportunity to be one of the best. He's going to rack up a lot of extra points this season.

While I was up in Gainesville last weekend, I ran into Phillips going past the football complex with Chas Henry and Caleb Sturgis. I told him "Glad you stayed one more year", and he was happy to hear that.
