Leftovers from Wisconsin: Post feeds need work

Florida did plenty right in its 74-56 win over No. 22 Wisconsin at the O’Connell Center.
But there was one area where the Gators struggled Wednesday night — establishing Patric Young in the post. Part of it had to do with some sloppy entry passes and part of it had to do with Young’s inability to hold onto the ball. But many of UF’s 12 first-half turnovers were the result of poor post feeds.
Florida coach Billy Donovan said he also thought the timing was off on post feeds in UF’s 101-71 win over Nebraska-Kearney.
“We’ve got to do a better job in practice,” Donovan said. “We’ve got to work on that because there are times Patric has got great post position and we are not getting him the ball and then we did throw it, we turn the ball over.”

Other notes:
– Donovan gave more insight into the growth of senior guard Mike Rosario, who played under control and focused against Wisconsin with 15 points and 4 assists. “Unlike a year ago when y0u corrected him he had all of the answers and the solutions to everything, the world, politics, all the solutions, right now he’s actually listening, he’s coachable,” Donovan said. “I think he’s in a good place mentally.”

– Senior guard Kenny Boynton posted his 13th career four-point play when he made a 3-point pointer as he was fouled by Wisconsin’s Marshall. At 1,621 career points, Boynton is three points shy of passing the late Dwayne Schintzius (1,624 points) for sixth on UF’s all-time scoring list.
–In going 10-for-1o from the floor, Erik Murphy became just the fourth player in UF history to be perfect from the floor in 10 or more attempts. The other three — David Lee (12-for-12 vs. Northeastern, 2003), Joakim Noah (10-for-10 vs. Savannah State, 2006) and Randall Leath (10-for-10 vs. Biscayne, 1981).
