Let's hope that the BCS poll agrees. Oklahoma just schwacked the #2 BCS team, which might put them over Florida. If not, then we really need to kick FSU's and Alabama's @$$.

it doesnt really matter if we are ranked 1,2,3,4 right now.

as long as we FINISH 1 or 2 then there is no problem.

the BCS NC will be B12 vs SEC as long as all the top teams win out.

as long as we beat FSU, and bama we are in! there is no way we would be left out after finishing the season with a win over #1.

the only issue that is present is will who will play against the gators or bama.

will it be OU or UT. right now it looks like OU but if they were to loose a game to either OSU or mizzu in the B12 champ game, they would be out and it would be texas.

either way i think the gators will be tested but win in the end against either B12 team.

the only team that i am very concerned about is bama. dont get me wrong FSU is an ok team too but mistake prone. not to mention you never can tell if half the team will be suspended for any given game.

Here is how I rank our potential opponents:

1. Alabama. Florida and Alabama have split this series all-time 13-20, and 'Bama always plays us hard. They don't dominate opponents, they just win.
2. Oklahoma. They dominate. Their defense crushes. They are just as fast as Florida.
3. Texas. Good at execution.
4. Florida State. It's Bowden's last dadgum game against Florida, and it's on their home turf! The Seminoles will either get a win, or Gator blood on their field. Dangerous.
5. Florida. Florida can kill itself with poor execution. We have not seen it since the Ole Miss game, so I doubt this will happen.

By no means are we assured of a spot in Miami if we win out. The computers are absolutely killing us due to our weak SOS, and even with those wins, it might still be close.

We absolutely need Bama to win and remain #1. If they lose in the Iron Bowl, it might not matter what we do. Even if we beat #1 Bama, we need the human polls to clearly favor us in order to offset the computers.

We also need the SEC teams to come out on top in the SEC-ACC games this weekend (UGA-GT, USCe-Clemson, Vandy-Duke) to boost our SOS.

IF bama is #1 when we play them, and IF we win... WE ARE IN!

there is no way they are going to put a rematch of the B12 south between OU and UT for the NC, rather than have the B12 champ vs SEC champ!

perhaps you have forgotten the BS about michigan wanting in on the NC game to rematch ohiostate, even though they did not win their conference!!! what happened? UF which did win the SEC played in the NC and stomped ohio!!!

the same thing will happen to whom ever is not the winner of the B12. which it looks like UT. unless OU blows it vs mizzu than OU is out and it would be UT vs SEC champ, assuming bama and UF dont loose until the SEC championship game

We are way behind in the computers.

1. Bama .9700
2. Texas .9600
3. OU .9000
4. UF .7800
5. USC .7100
6. Utah .8600

The problem is that no one knows how much our computer ranking will rise if we beat a #1 Bama team.

The ONLY way to assure that we go to Miami is to be #1 in both human polls AND have a comfortable lead on the #2 team. If that occurs, then the computers won't matter.

In 2006, the computers didn't really favor UF or Michigan, so the human polls completely controlled who went. This year, the computers do not like UF.

I hate to say it, but if we're #2 or a very close #1 in the last human polls, then we are at the mercy of the computers.

This shows how much the computer ranking is bringing us down.

I think Florida should be higher up on that list. If we play as good as we can, nobody will beat us.
