"Jaye Howard remembers those mornings when he was a member of Mickey Marotti’s Breakfast Club where he couldn’t push away from the dining hall table until he had satisfied Marotti and the strength and conditioning staff that he had consumed enough calories. Back in those days he was a rather svelte 230 pounds and still thinking he was going to be the next terror off the edge in college football but when Marotti and Urban Meyer saw him, they envisioned a wide body with quick feet lining up on the inside.
Marotti and Meyer saw Howard’s frame and believed he could carry a lot more weight without sacrificing too much in the way of quickness. Howard, who insists he really wasn’t a big eater, resisted initially, which might seem difficult to imagine now that he’s 6-3, 310 and has to watch what he eats to ensure that he doesn’t add too much weight."
