note to Foley: Please fire Addazio

I'm sure there's a hot-shot Offensive coach somewhere in a mid-tier school like Boise, Oregon, OK State, Nevada, Utah, other schools that run the spread like the Gators that you can hire away. Get rid of Addazio Please.

A number of us here have our particular favorite(s), but I suspect the rest, like me, would happily, excitedly, RELIEVEDLY welcome almost any one of them by now.
Gator Nation is uniform in this amazing dichotomy:
EVERYONE agrees that Addazio should be removed as OC; NO ONE thinks Meyer will do it.

Even if Meyer did remove the Dazzler, who would come to UF and work under Meyer with his spread option?
Boise State HC - Chris Petersen - too busy being the darling of the BCS, won't work under another HC
Boise State OC - Brian Harsin - probably loyal to Petersen, wrong style of offense
Auburn OC - Gus Malzahn - maybe tempted by Vandy HC job, not sure if he would work under Meyer, good fit
OK State OC - Dana Holgersen OC - Having too much fun in OK State, wrong style of offense
Chris Klenakis - Nevada OC - Probably too loyal to Nevada, but great fit for the spread-option
Kyle Whittingham - Utah HC - Good history with Urban Meyer, but would not want to be subservient to Meyer
Dave Schramm/Aaron Roderick - Utah OC - Probably loyal to Whittingham
Chip Kelly - Oregon HC/OC - Might be a good fit, but no reason to believe he would leave Oregon

Open up the discussion to current and former Meyer proteges:
Dan Mullen - Miss St HC/OC - We complained about him here at UF. Why would we take him back?
Billy Gonzales - LSU WR coach - Probably some bad blood here. May not be that good any way.
Zach Azzanni - Florida WR Coach - Good fit. Smart guy. History with Urban Meyer. Is he up to the task?
Scot Loeffler - Florida QB coach - Average fit. Smart guy. New to the Meyer clan. I see him moving on soon. We don't use normal QBs here, so why keep a coach that develops pure passers?

Open up discussion to all possible candidates and we can get rid of the spread option entirely: Mike Shanahan, Kyle Shanahan, one of the Stoops boys, any hot shot head coach looking to jump into the Big Boy arena.

It won't happen anytime soon.

i think he will unless he wants to be the laughing stock of college football

It looks really bad to us looking through orange and blue lenses, but to the rest of the world we only had one bad season. Only FSU is laughing at us. Everyone else is thinking we had one average year, not a bad one, but an average one. Look at Texas-they are not bowl eligible for the first time in a long time and are below 0.500 for the first time in a long time. We are bowl eligible and above 0.500. USCw is 7-4 and would be happy to be where we are--bowl eligible.

One more year of this crap and we will be the laughing stock. We have been mocked, but we are not the laughing stock yet. We might be getting there.

I don't care what anyone else thinks of us: I'm tired of the disappointment and frustration of watching our team FULL of talent and in perfect position to keep it going for years to come being run so poorly that instead we are witnessing its apparent sudden and plunging demise. It can all be salvaged, the ship can be righted and returned to proud dominance in a season or two, but ONLY if the mistakes are acknowledged, corrected, and the long, hard work begun to make it so.
MY fear is that nothing will change, that despite his words and implied promises, Meyer will continue to stone wall when it comes to demands for change at OC, QB, the offense and the rest. What happens then?
Here is my suggestion: vote with your wallets, Gator Nation. Foley is the one man that Urban Meyer must and will listen to, and as others have noted, Foley WILL move if and when the bottom line is threatened.
Our bowl game is a good place to start: don't go. No airline tix, no RV gas-ups, no game-T-shirts and NO TICKET SALES. A very public "announcement" (in the form of empty seats), but its clearest message will be a loud low number. Let's not stop there, though. It's Christmas, but maybe this isn't the year to "say it with Gator paraphernalia". It all adds up, in this case to CHANGE.

Now there is an original idea. Brilliant! On top of that, we need to let Foley know we are going to do it so he can see cause-effect and act accordingly. That gives him time to schmooze with the next HC/OC.

But everything is so cheap right now!!! :)

Trying a bit of humor here.
