"Yet another player is making the switch to tight end at the University of Florida.
Head coach Urban Meyer first moved Cornelius Ingram from quarterback to tight end a few years ago and had redshirt sophomore Jordan Reed make the same move last season. Now, former receiver Omarius Hines is getting work as a non-traditional tight end, tight ends coach Brian White said Thursday.
"Omarius has skills that will allow him to do some of the off the line of scrimmage — hybrid stuff that will create mismatch advantages for us against the defense," White said. "He's doing a great job. He's a good guy, smart, loves football and very talented. People are going to enjoy watching him play this year."
