Notebook: Hines to see time at tight end

O-town Gator

"Yet another player is making the switch to tight end at the University of Florida.

Head coach Urban Meyer first moved Cornelius Ingram from quarterback to tight end a few years ago and had redshirt sophomore Jordan Reed make the same move last season. Now, former receiver Omarius Hines is getting work as a non-traditional tight end, tight ends coach Brian White said Thursday.

"Omarius has skills that will allow him to do some of the off the line of scrimmage — hybrid stuff that will create mismatch advantages for us against the defense," White said. "He's doing a great job. He's a good guy, smart, loves football and very talented. People are going to enjoy watching him play this year."

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I don't see how Hines can contribute more at TE than he can at WR. We already have Reed who is an athletic TE, and Christian seems to be a pretty tough cat.

hopefully like hernandez did with shovel passes i hope he still plays WR tho we're not too deep there with frankie hammond and TJ lawrence gone

unless guys like dunkley, patton, clarke, & dunbar get it going freshmen yr

i was really hoping hines would have a breakout yr at WR so this is not so great news imo
