Florida announced last week that its Orange Bowl Classic game with Wake Forest will tip at 5 p.m. ET at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise.
The Gators have are 14-2 all-time in Orange Bowl Classic games and have won their last four. UF’s last loss in the Orange Bowl Classic came against Richmond (56-53) on Dec. 19, 2009.
Wake Forest is in rebuilding mode under first-year coach Danny Manning. The Demon Deacons roster includes incoming freshman guard Mitchell Wilbekin, the younger brother of former Gator point guard and 2014 SEC player of the year Scottie Wilbekin.
Ticket info for the Orange Bowl Classic game can be found here. Florida State and USF also will play in the doubleheader at a time to be determined. Like Wake Forest, USF is rebuilding under first-year coach Orlando Antigua, a former Kentucky assistant.
Other notes:
– Virginia Commonwealth was the unanimous pick to win the Atlantic 10 conference at its media day in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Tuesday. VCU, coached by former Gator assistant Shaka Smart, will play Florida in a closed scrimmage on Nov. 1 on UF’s campus.
