One more observation here, now that MSU has lost to The Poison Nuts by one point, to cast a vague shadow over all proceedings today:
In the UT/UGA game, Tyler Bray has had a NUMBER of poor throws today--and has just thrown a TERRIBLE pick in the middle of their drive-to-tie-the-game late, to pretty well seal it for the 'Dogs (though the questionable call by Richt to throw the ball on 3rd down has given UT one more chance to drive the field after all, after this punt--but where they WERE down in Georgia's end of the field, they are now starting back near their own 20). Oops, ANOTHER drop by a Tennessee receiver who was wide open. I mean, this much-hyped Volunteer passing-game has looked mediocre, inconsistent at BEST, today...And here, after driving them down AGAIN deep into Georgia territory, Bray literally fumbles away his chance to bail them out with a late tying-TD after all. Sorry, but even though the whole Vol-defense gets an "F" for this performance, and they showed practically NO kicking game, in the end, more than anyone or anything else, this loss is on Tyler Bray. WAY too many "unforced errors", it wasn't Georgia pressure (there WASN'T that much) but his OWN lack of calm and poise that seemed to drive his constant and regular sudden screw-ups. He was supposed to be one of the top QBs in the Conference at this point, but I'll take our guy, the true sophomore Driskel, still learning and early in his experience and growth at the position right now, over any of the others I've seen so far--and CERTAINLY over Bray.
As for UGA, again: They only BARELY beat a bumbling Tennessee team having an off day (especially the defense, which played a LOT better against us) by 1 score in a high-scoring, back-and-forth game...These Bulldogs don't scare ME at ALL: they can be handled. We play something close to mistake-free against them, and we win, maybe even going away. That's a relatively long way off, though. Let's just go out and play our kind of tough , tie-'em-up-and-beat-'em-late game against LSU next weekend, and take it from there, whatever comes our way.
