Another weekend, another visit from a big-time recruit for the Florida Gators.
This time, it’s number one overall 2013 recruit Jabari Parker, who is visiting the UF campus this weekend.
A Chicago native, the 6-foot-8, 220-pound Parker has been compared to LeBron James because of his combination of size, strength and skill. But what also makes Parker’s recruitment intriguing is his strong Mormon faith. Parker is contemplating taking a two-year Mormon mission, either when he turns 18 or 19, which would interrupt either his college or potentially his pro basketball career.
Florida is one of Parker’s final five choices with Duke, BYU, Stanford and Michigan State. He visited Duke last weekend and reportedly made a strong connection with Duke head coach Mike Krzyewksi. Now, it’s Billy Donovan’s turn to woo the Chicago standout.
