After helping lead the Gators to a Final Four season, all three Florida basketball assistants received raises for the 2014-15 season.
The most substantial was Florida assistant coach John Pelphrey, whose base salary increased to $390,000 from $180,000. In addition, Pelphrey received a $150,000 signing bonus, raising his total compensation for the 2014-15 season to $540,000. Pelphrey’s three-year, $1.8 million buyout from Arkansas, where he was let go in 2011, expired last spring.
Florida assistant coach Matt McCall also was bumped to $195,000 this season (from $165,000) and assistant coach Rashon Burno got an increase to $165,000 (from $140,000).
Per terms of their contacts, each coach also receives a dealer car through agreements with the University of Florida athletic association and a $1,500 academic bonus designed to encourage student-athlete academic excellence.
The Gainesville Sun obtained all three contracts through an open records request.
