Florida announced Sunday that senior forward Casey Prather is doubtful for Tuesday’s home game against Georgia.
According to UF’s website, Prather sat out Sunday’s practice with a bone bruise. The 6-foot-6 senior had fluid buildup in his knee on Thursday but an MRI revealed no structural damage. Without Prather, UF’s leading scorer at 17 points per game, Florida rallied from down 7 points with under five minutes remaining to beat Arkansas 84-82 in overtime. Sophomore forward Dorian Finney-Smith stepped up in Prather’s absence with a career-high 22 points and 15 rebounds.
Prather had scored in double figures in all his previous 14 games before the injury. The Gators may need to go without him again Tuesday against the Bulldogs. Georgia (8-6, 2-0 SEC) is off to a surprise unbeaten start in league play. Florida (13-2, 2-0 SEC) will be going for a school-record 25th straight win at home and eighth straight win overall.
