ORIGIN....In an effort to tip off the 2009-2010 regular season in style, the University Athletic Association, Inc. has announced some special promotions for the regular-season opener versus Stetson on Sunday, November 15 at 4 p.m.
UF students can enjoy a pre-game BBQ at Rowdy Town from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. outside of Gate 3 of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Also, the first 2,000 Rowdy Reptiles in attendance will receive Gator Basketball t-shirts. One University of Florida undergraduate student will win $2,000 cash. As part of the Pack the House of Horrors Challenge, the UF student organization which brings the most members to the game (check-in at the Gate 3 Lobby) will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the basketball and football practice facilities and will have a private dinner with men’s basketball head coach Billy Donovan. The first 1,500 fans will receive 2009-2010 men’s and women’s basketball schedule key tags.
UF Faculty & Staff
UF Faculty and Staff members, with valid ID, are able to purchase 2-for-1 tickets. Tickets must be purchased Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Gator Ticket Office located at Gate 1 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in advance or by logging on to GatorZone.com/tickets. The special promo code for UF Faculty and Staff members is FACULTY.
KTK/Gainesville SunGator Kids Club
KTK/Gainesville SunGator Kids Club members received a special invite from Coach Donovan and will receive three (3) free general admission tickets to the game. Tickets must be picked up Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Gator Ticket Office located at Gate 1 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The first 100 Gator Kids Club members who enter through Gate 4 will receive a free hamburger and fries!
Rowdy Town
Prior to several regular-season games, including the Stetson game, Rowdy Town (outside of Gate 3 of the O’Connell Center) will provide UF students with an opportunity to play basketball and EA Sports games, as well as receive free massages courtesy of the Gainesville School of Massage. Students will also be able to listen to music and play Nintendo Wii on the Gator Vision Boards in the O’Connell Center! Students who participate may be selected to form the team tunnel prior to tip-off.
