I will try to go easy on our Gator QB, so here are two sets of statistics comparing Jeff Driskel to his contemporaries in college football.

ESPN QBR 2012 [ref 1]:
  1. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M (90.5 Total QBR – 1st in FBS out of 122 qualified QBs)
  2. AJ McCarron, Alabama (81.5 Total QBR - 5th in FBS)
  3. Aaron Murray, Georgia (78.2 Total QBR – 13th in FBS)
  4. Connor Shaw, South Carolina (68.2 Total QBR – 34th in FBS)
  5. Jeff Driskel, Florida (60.4 Total QBR – 46th in FBS)
    • Driskel gained 470 yards and averaged nine yards per rush on designed running plays. As a result, he added the 16th-most clutch weighted expected points on rushing plays in FBS last season.
However, Driskel was sacked 36 times on just 310 dropbacks (11.6 percent). He lost the second-most clutch weighted expected points as a result of sacks, behind only NC State’s Mike Glennon.
  6. Zach Mettenberger, LSU (47.1 Total QBR – 79th in FBS)
ESPN QBR 2013 as of week 3 [ref 2]:
  1. 8 Mettenberger, LSU 20.3 1.0 -1.3 92 91.6
  2. 20 James Franklin, MIZZ 12.1 5.5 -2.1 90 84.2
  3. 24 Johnny Manziel, TA&M 15.2 5.9 -1.9 127 82.1
  4. 29 Brandon Allen, ARK 9.6 2.5 -1.4 64 81.0
  5. 31 Aaron Murray, UGA 19.5 -1.3 -4.5 74 79.5
  6. 35 Bo Wallace, MISSIS 15.7 7.2 -2.7 130 77.0
  7. 38 AJ McCarron, ALABA 9.8 0.0 -1.4 64 73.8
  8. 41 Nick Marshall, AUBU 11.0 4.5 -2.4 103 71.0
  9. 42 Dak Prescott, MSST 5.4 5.9 -0.3 102 70.6
  10. 45 Connor Shaw, USCE 14.2 0.6 -1.3 127 70.1
  11. 47 Justin Worley, TENN 3.6 0.8 -0.1 68 68.4
  12. 51 Jalen Whitlow, UKEN 1.9 5.7 -1.0 77 65.9
  13. 74 Carta-Samuels, VAN 6.7 2.6 -3.3 110 55.5
  14. 88 Jeff Driskel, UNIVFLA 6.9 1.1 -3.9 79 50.0
Driskel's QBR has gone down due to sacks, interceptions, and lack of first down conversions. It's still early, but the things that made him the #5 SEC QB/ #46 FBS QB have not been there in 2013, so far.

Remember it's only two games, I doubt UT has the a good D. I don't think they have the athletes Miami does. UK doesn't just ask Bobby Petrino. Just as long the Gators don't turn the ball over five times in six plays, they should be fine.
