Johnson and his staff have kept offenses off balance by changing it up this season. Their basic alignment is a 4-2-5 scheme with three safeties. But lately they've gone with more three-man front and have moved Eric Norwood around.
The 255-pound Norwood, who's coming off a three-sack performance against Arkansas, will be a key to containing Florida quarterback
Tim Tebow. The Gamecocks will use Norwood as a stand-up outside linebacker when they're in their three-man front, but will also bring him off the edge on blitzes and up the middle. He just has a knack for getting to the quarterback.
"What you've got to do with Florida is get the football out of their hands, and nobody has really been able to do that," Johnson said. "It's like they've got control of the football and aren't going to give it up. We've got to find a way to do it."
