SEC Media Days opening blog

HOOVER, Ala. — Usually here in the land that sidewalks forgot we are told what time Florida’s early games will be played. But this is the new SEC with a one-year old network so that news broke a couple of weeks ago.

So when I went downstairs to get my credential and SEC media guide, the accompanying early TV schedule got tossed to the side. But I did notice that the SEC has two scheduled doubleheaders on CBS for Nov. 7 and 14, the latter in honor of my birthday. (Kidding).

So let’s look at the possibilities for those two wonderful Saturdays because (say it with me) we’re ready for college football.

Nov. 7

LSU at Alabama would seem to be a lock for one of those games. Other games: Arkansas at Ole Miss, Auburn at Texas A&M, Vanderbilt at Florida, Kentucky at Georgia, South Carolina at Tennessee. Mississippi State and Missouri play in Columbia, Mo., on Thursday night of that week.

Nov. 14

Alabama at Mississippi State, Arkansas at LSU, Georgia at Auburn, Florida at South Carolina, Kentucky at Vanderbilt. Those are the SEC games. Missouri plays BYU in Kansas City. Tennessee and Texas A&M have softies that week.
