Here's your checklist:

- Is the opponent ranked? Yes - We lose. No - We have a shot.

Ha! Yeah, that seems to be the trend.

(How far "OFF" were the prognosticators and their "conventional wisdom" THIS year?!!
Florida vs. Iowa sounds like the Orange Bowl match-up, to go by the preseason magazines and talking-heads.)

(YAWN) Can't get real worked up about either of those match-ups, can you?
Hawkeyes likely to take it more seriously than our guys, I'M thinking--look out for something like that "Michigan-in-the-Cap-City-Bowl-Debacle" a few years back...
At this point, that wouldn't bum me like it ought to--I didn't like much of what I heard in Urban's promises and proclamations post-game, and I'm still wondering what it'll take to get him to take responsibility for real change, make the hard choices...Do we need ANOTHER bad beat down?
More than anything, I guess I just don't CARE about the also-ran bowl game--except of course that we got into one and get all that valuable practice, reps, game-prep-routine and in-game experience. I say we should play all the freshmen for those very reasons, but Coach will probably play all the seniors ("They earned it!", I can hear him now). No excuses if we get blown out though, Coach, OK?

The thing that worries me the most is the apathy from the whole team. Urban is resigned to losing it seems. I want our fire back. As the season wore on it became more and more apparent that no one really cared. The Gator Nation is so pissed that we can't stand it, but the TEAM is apathetic.

No matter who our opponent is they will come in knowing that we don't care. Hit us in the mouth and we will back down because it's not worth getting our blood pressure up. It's only a game right?

I WANT OUR FIRE BACK. WE NEED SOME ATTITUDE!

Oh yeah, I'm totally with you on this! (Check the other active threads here--you're not alone in your concern.)
It has definitely been reflected in our level of effort as the game goes on. That has been a problem on BOTH sides of the ball. As I note elsewhere, it ISN'T a problem with our conditioning but with our motivation
--IT'S BETWEEN THE EARS, and I lay that at the feet of the coaches.
I too would like to see more fire and passion--from the Head Coach, to start with! I STILL don't see the anger the old Urban Meyer would have displayed at the kind of performances he got this season, particularly after such a shrugging, passively uncaring SURRENDER against our cross-state rival to end the schedule.
He should have been PISSED.
On the other hand, he shouldn't be surprised: he didn't show much in the way of high-energy commitment or deep involvement HIMSELF in the course of the season. How could he expect to see it somehow in his team? Why should it be anything but a reflection of his own personality and demeanor?
