It is as close to a sure thing as possible that Florida’s NCAA Tournament will begin in Orlando on March 20 although we won’t know who they are playing until March 16 and what time the Gators will play until later that night.
But it will be a tough and expensive ticket.
Florida receives 350 tickets from the NCAA (no matter where the tourney is played) and can ask for another 200, which it will. But out of that 550 there are tickets for players and staff that will be used. That doesn’t leave a lot for fans.
Your best bet may be to buy tickets directly through the Amway Center. When I went on the site today there were plenty of seats available with the package for all sessions ranging from $395 to $1,350.
What you have to remember is that the NCAA basketball tournament is the NCAA’s biggest source of income so the prices tend to be outrageous.
And also remember this — there’s always the possibility that Kentucky will be sent to Orlando in the other pod that will be playing there. And we know that there is no price to high for the Big Blue Nation to see their Wildcats play.
