Tim Tebow is motivated by critics

I don't know about you guys and gals, but I have been catching a lot of flak from the Gator haters due to his being drafted #25 by Denver. I think I will be using some of his own words against these Gator haters on naysayers motivating him to prove them wrong, on top of his own self-motivation.

I have been arguing at work. I got into another argument with complete strangers at the airport. I have a big war on Facebook. What kinds of arguments does everyone else get into in defending Timmy?

I feel your pain. I prefer arguing on Facebook, since I have lots of Gator friends on there. At the airport and back home in Texas, I am all alone. I will get it again when I go back to work on Monday.

The "experts" on ESPN.com got the Broncos a 78 grade for the Tebow pick.

Notice how Mel Kiper clammed up after Jon Gruden and the others stuck up for Timmy and the Gators. (BTW, it's nice to know that ol' "Chucky" is a Florida fan and thinks highly of Urban Meyer!)

So much for those moron media hacks stating that Coach Meyer foesn't prepare his players for the next level; as of right now we have eight - count them - EIGHT Florida players off the boards (Aaron Hernandez was drafted by the Patriots this morning in Round 4). Apparently Urban's doing something right!

As the cliche goes, he who laughs last laughs best.

To be honest, I don't think we need to use the number of former Gators drafted by the NFL as a benchmark of success for the program. As we have stated elsewhere, it is not Urban's job to prepare these kids for the NFL. NFL football and NCAA football are two very different games.

In the long term, Coach Meyer has always prepared his players for life, not just the NFL. In the short term, he prepares them for college football games. He's always been doing something right. I don't want to get into that Michigan/Notre Dame/USC game where we call ourselves better than everyone else just because we train for the NFL in college. To be honest, that is one thing that turns me off to Miami and Florida State football--they act like pro teams, starting with prima donna attitudes.

I do like shutting up critics, but I am not bothered by them and neither is the Florida football program. McShay and Kiper can say all they want, but they are not important enough in this universe to affect the NFL draft or Gator football. They bloviate all they want, just as we do here on these forums, except they get paid a bit more to do so. The only critic with any clout out there is Jerry Jones. The rest of those critics are NFL losers, NFL wannabes, or loudmouths. Eric Allen said nothing nice about Tebow, but he never won a SuperBowl despite some personal achievements. Qadry Ismail won a SuperBowl, but in a supporting role. Now look at the supporters or fair critics: Steve Young (one of the best QBs of all time), Jon Gruden (SB-winning coach), Tom Jackson (played decent part in two SBs), Chris Berman (always a fair analyst).

Right now, I'm laughing at McShay, Kiper, Allen, and Ismail, but mainly at McShay and Kiper, the losers who will continue to get paid for spouting off mindless drivel. I did not even listen to those guys before the draft. If you want good NFL analysis, just stick with Chris Berman and his crew. They are better at pointing out a player's faults without being dicks about it.

Most people I have talked to are hoping the best for Tebow. It seems like EVERY sports writer is just bashing the pick and Tebow's future. That's just the easy road. I want to see people, like Gruden, point out all the positive aspects of Tebow's game and say that he will be a success. But most are afraid to go out and say that, because very rarely do players succeed, especially QB's that don't fit the typical NFL mold.

No arguing here. There is zero point to getting all worked up over this. Tebow was drafted in the first round, period. People are going to hate, ive accepted it.

All the critics about Tebow playing in college... my sole response was look at his numbers. Im hoping and fairly confident i will be able to say the same thing in a few years.

Is it not funny how people do ignore Tebow's numbers? He currently has the highest passer rating in NCAA history. He has more YPA than any of the other rookie QBs, except maybe Bradford. He owns 4 NCAA records, which seems to be 4 more than the other QBs in this draft. Yet, he is just a fullback? Yeah, I have accepted it. I am tired of hearing it. I am absolutely tired of hearing about Bradford.

Even if Tim Tebow never rushed a ball in his entire career at Florida, he'd still be one of the best passing QBs statistical wise in SEC history.

Haters are going to hate. I have a ton of people at work that just spew out the same nonsense Kiper does and they think they're smarter than NFL execs. You just have to let it go and give Tim a few years and he'll prove everyone wrong.

Seems that Jerry Jones (Cowboys owner) is on the bash-Meyer bandwagon along with Slimebaum, Tim Brando, Mike Freeman, Peter Kerasotis, the "Slantinel" hacks et al, but I'd love to see these blowhards try and do a better job than what Meyer's doing right now. What Urban is doing for Florida football is indeed right, and if they're bothered by his level of success, they all need to get a life. It never ceases to amaze me how jealous others are of Urban Meyer.

Now look at the supporters or fair critics: Steve Young (one of the best QBs of all time), Jon Gruden (SB-winning coach), Tom Jackson (played decent part in two SBs), Chris Berman (always a fair analyst).

Kordell Stewart is also another one who seems to be objective and not one to cave in to sensationalism. Jon Gruden has openly admitted that he's a Gator supporter, and I believe that he and Urban Meyer are friends - "Chucky" has attended Gator practice sessions in the past.

McShay was made to look like a fool on National Signing Day, and thank God that he and Kiper were forced to eat their words during the draft when Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round, contrary to their predictions. As far as I'm concerned McShay, Kiper, Finebaum and all the other critics and Gator-haters out there can kiss my ass.
